Overview
Holland Elementary School
Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports Plan
Student Behavioral Expectations:
- Be Safe
- Be Responsible
- Be Kind
What is PBIS?
With PBIS, students are explicitly taught the expectations and procedures for each area of our school. Through this explicit instruction, the students learn about expected and unexpected behaviors in each area of our school.
PBIS strives on being a positive support system, where the adults in the school are recognizing good behavior and decision-making.
PBIS is enforced school-wide by every member of the Holland Elementary School staff.
HES Mission Statement:
The Holland Elementary community is dedicated to creating difference makers for the 21st century by inspiring and teaching kindness, fostering innovative thinking, and developing leadership in all.
Student Recognition:
Each day 10 staff members will present Holland Hawkeyes to students showing expected behaviors. After receiving a ticket, children will write their name in Celebrity Book and choose a random number for the recognition board. When 10 spaces in a row are filled, those names in those students will be broadcasted and those students will receive a reward. Our recognition system will begin in October.
How Parents Can Help
Remind your child about the three expectations in school:
- Be Safe
- Be Responsible
- Be Kind
These expectations have different meanings in different areas of the school. Please refer to the school wide positive behavior matrix for specifics on how these positive behaviors present themselves in each area.
